Ruby is a chocolate Labrador who has been bred specifically to work as a ‘Pet Therapist’. She has been a part of the Kinder programs at Waverley Meadows for several years now and has had a wonderfully positive impact on the learning program. Ruby works to help children who are finding separation difficult, those lacking in confidence, children with special needs, those with english as a second language, or even children who begin the kinder year with a fear of dogs.

Before Ruby begins her kinder year, the staff and children chat about safety and hygiene issues and the general care and responsibility required for a pet.

Ruby lives full time with Mrs Knowles and is a valuable member of staff. She contributes greatly to the programs offered at Waverley Meadows.
