About Us
Waverley Meadows Pre-School is set in freshly landscaped grounds located on the edge of Lum reserve. With its quiet side street location and nestled amongst many beautiful trees it has a safe and tranquil setting. The facilities are bright, clean and modern and conscientiously maintained. With its well equipped centre, large outdoor playground facilities and experienced and qualified staff, Waverley Meadows Pre-School is the obvious choice for 3 and 4 year old children in the Monash area.
Preparation For School & Life!
At Pre-School children learn to become independent - and children learn by doing. That is why we provide an environment that has been carefully set up with small tables and chairs, a home corner with furniture, sinks, taps and toilets that are all within the children’s reach. Your child will gain confidence and learn to try to do many things all by themselves.
Individualised & planned programs.
Children are all different - and because they are, we plan our programs for both the individual child as well as for the group. This is done by thorough and careful observations of the children while at play and while talking to them and their families. We then make detailed plans and objectives for the children that allows for their individual differences and tastes. Each week a program is planned to meet the children’s developmental skills, interests and needs. There is no set curriculum but we cover topics including; music, movement, language, art, science and mathematics. We often go on excursions out into the community and have special visitors come to see us at the Pre-School.
New for 2009 - the D4 program.
The Deferred 4-year-old program launched in 2009, will enable us to be even more specific in planning programs which are developmentally appropriate for children of all ages. Not all children will attend this program, but its introduction increases the options for your child’s pre-school experience. Follow the link to find out more.
Ties to Brandon Park Primary School
The Pre-School has close ties to the nearby Brandon Park Primary School through such programs as the Links Program and the Buddy System.
Modern Facilities
The well equipped centre along with the freshly landscaped grounds and new and exciting large outdoor playground and sandpit meet current safety standards and regulations. We have ample covered play areas available for both those rainy and sunny days. Naturally we are Sun Smart accredited. The inside facilities are bright, clean and modern and conscientiously maintained. We are proud to boast that we are one of few pre-schools that have air-conditioning.
